I hope I've been missed after not blogging for so long.

Terribly busy at work. :(
I want to complain about working late late nights almost every day since last week.
But most of you know how much I love cabbing and working OT allows me to do so.. for free! So I won't be complaining. Haha.

When I turned 12, my parents (probably more like my Mom) got me a mini sewing machine.
And I remember thinking "WTH?!" Maybe not.. But you could imagine my disappointment.

I eventually did use it to shorten my skirt in Secondary School.. which horrified my mother. Haha.

Mom had always wished for me to be good with craft and sewing. It is something she enjoyed as a child and she tried her best for me to be interested too by putting me through craft workshops over the school holidays and by teaching me cross-stitch and crochet.

Yes, I did go through those workshops and I learnt whatever she taught me and did whatever she asked me to.. but I never felt super interested in something that I would go out to do it on my own. Just not that into crafts I guess.

Mom's wish might come true.. in a way.

Just over the last weekend, I (day)dreamt myself asking my Mom for a sewing machine as a wedding gift.

My mother had gotten hers as a wedding gift from her Mom and yes, she's still using it now.
The one she has is unlike those that are super big, like the size of an organ. It is more modern and portable.

Last weekend, Mom had it out again to alter the new pants we got for Dad. I was hovering around her cos she kept asking for my help with threading the needle and stuff.
Honestly, I want to learn how to use a sewing machine (in my mission to be a worthy housewife) but can't bring myself to ask Mom to teach me. For fear of her asking me to do all sewing from then forth.

So anyway, we had some serious problems with the needle that kept flying out of place. I was nagging at Mom about how old this is already and that she should get a new one if it's spoilt. I even thought of getting her one even though Mom kept complaining about how she can't and won't do anymore sewing cos it's too strenuous for her eyes. But we eventually fixed it and it's working again.

Haha. I'm rambling.

The main crux is that I think I'd want a sewing machine and I think it will please Mom if I had asked for it.

But of course, I would first need to learn how to sew. Lol.

Back to work. :(
