My Mom's friend sells such baked goodies on a freelance basis.
She did extras of this "mooncake" and gave us some. Don't know why it's called a mooncake when it's not really like the traditional or snowskin types.
But OMG.
It's one of the nicest things I've ever eaten! Serious!

I had my first one when it was still warm. Oh gosssshhhhh.
The pastry was so crisp and fragrant..
Yam paste not too sweet and home made too!

Ahhhhh.

Would love to learn how to make it but paisei to ask Mom's friend since this is like her own recipe for the business.

Anyone has a good recipe?

Tried one of these during those mooncake fairs and I tried one that was really really good! (though I cannot remember which hotel)

I can still remember the nice pastry layers and the sofy yam... slurps.
