Set lunch @ Siam Kitchen Labels: food
That day, the boy and I were walking around looking for lunch options. Actually, I was the one dragging him along to have lunch cos I was starving! So we walked round and round the basement of Suntec City, and finally decided on this place.
I don't think I've eaten at Siam Kitchen before and I'm not sure if I'll be back.
It was a public holiday but the entire place had only 2 other tables filled. It was a nice surprise cos we could talk and we actually sat there for quite a while. I made my little attempt to learn about Hans' huge extended family. Haha.
$11.90++ each.
Available Mondays-Sundays till 3pm.
There was this list of appetisers, main courses and drinks to choose from. One could also top up $1.90 for the dessert.
The boy eating the yummy keropoks which I didn't photograph cos they were disappearing too quickly. :S
Our choices..
Tom Yum Goong
It would be better if it was slightly more spicy. Not the best I've tasted.
Spicy Green Mango Salad
Really quite spicy but it was good. :)
Green Curry Chicken with Rice
Don't think Hans enjoyed this. The curry was full of some weird chunky spices (wait.. or was that the Tom Yum Goong?) and had very few edible ingredients.
Phad Thai Noodles with Seafood
It was okay but not enough flavour to it imo. The noodles were quite bland and a little dry and hard. Oh and not enough nuts. I need more nuts in my Phad Thai!
Iced Lemongrass Tea (left)
I was a little taken aback when I had my first mouthful cos the lemongrass smell is very strong. It's light and refreshing, but the smell turns me off a little.
So I grumbled and wanted to exchange with Hans.
Iced Thai Milk Tea (right)
It was nice but too thick for me. A few mouthfuls made me feel full already. I eventually went back to my Iced Lemongrass Tea but their Milk Tea is really quite nice. Tastes pretty special.
We didn't have space for desserts sadly. I was quite looking forward to their Grass Jelly Chendol with Azuki Beans and Caramelized Tapioca with Sweet Coconut Milk.
I wonder if we made the wrong choices cos while it was a casual lunch with nice quiet ambience, I'm not sure if I had really enjoyed the food.
With the help of NYX Milk eyeshadow pencil, I finally get to have some yellows (that are true to colour) on my lids!
I love yellow+purple as much as I love orange+pink. Okay.. they're basically the same, just different tones. But whatever.
Plus some crazy lipstick going on.
Which I rubbed off on the bus 15 minutes later and applied a nude one the moment I got to a washroom. Lol. It looked too crazy in real-life.
Hans likes me with pinks/purples on my lids. I was reminded of this just a couple of days ago when I had a lavender-ish colour on my lids and he was going on about how nice I look that day and stuff. Just like my ets days.
I don't really like pinks and purples cos they don't look as nice on me as say, greens and blues. Pink tends to make my eyes appear swollen/smaller as it is the case with many other people, and purple usually brings out my dark eye circles. Yikes.
I'm guessing Hans likes them maybe cos I hardly use them and so the rarity effect. Lol.
