Before I start my reviews of these Chagrin Valley soaps, I have to mention that I cut my soaps up into quarters to use each time so that I get to finish and try out others faster and also to avoid the whole chunk getting soggy and gross.

I only got sample sizes this time but I have a couple that I would want to get in full size during the next order. Sample sizes are obviously not as worth it as the bigger ones.

Today's review will be on the Chocolate Almond Soap.

I love anything Chocolate and definitely had to place this in my order!
This smells more Almond than Chocolate.. I don't know if it's because the quarter I tried has lesser brown swirls. It has Almond Essence/Almond Milk smell and not so much like the nut itself, which is still nice cos I like Almond Milk and Almond Jelly. But I know my Dad would say that it smells like bedbugs. Lol.
The scent doesn't linger, so you won't have to worry about smelling like a walking dessert.
It is a smooth soap, without any scrubby thingies.
My quarter of the sample bar lasted me about 10 days, which is not bad compared to the others.

This didn't turn soggy on me. I tried leaving it in the bathroom after use and letting it dry out in my room - it remained dry and hard after leaving it to dry for a couple of hours after use.

This was the first CV body soap I tried and so I felt that it left my skin too squeaky, which I had expected after reading forums and reviews. I wasn't so sure if it would be drying for my skin since commercial body washes won't leave your skin feeling this way. Unfortunately, my skin does feel a little dry. I noticed tingling sensations and slight itching all over my body - I wasn't sure if it was an allergy reaction but I believe my skin was just dry.
I was (and still am) worried that all their soaps would be drying but this is making me use my body lotions more often so I think it's a good thing. Haha.
Will still keep trying, maybe it's just this particular one that is less moisturizing for me.

I actually quite like their soaps anyhoo.
I'm getting used to bringing my soap box to the bath and soaping up my body. It makes your skin feel really clean. It sure makes me feel good to use stuff that is chemical-free. :)
