$8.90++ buffet anyone?
http://www.sukigroup.com.sg/suki/promotions.htm#nihonmura
Mon - Fri 12noon-2.30pm
Only at Revenue House and Yio Chu Kang.
Outlets here..
Hans' parents tried the Super Lunch Buffet at Revenue House but we decided to go to the one at YCK Stadium.
We read up on reviews before going for it and while some said that the sushi is not up to standard, Hans and I are not entirely picky eaters so it was really okay for us.
I actually think it's quite worth it.
The variety of sushi definitely cannot be compared to say, Sakae Sushi's buffet since Nihon Mura doesn't have extras like Fried Tofu/Chawanmushi/Fried Hotate etc.
But for the difference in price, I feel that the variety that Nihon Mura offers is not bad already. The ingredients used are pretty fresh and we did have our fill.
It's basically a conveyor belt and you have to just pick out whatever you want - except the red plates. Like many foodies have mentioned, the speed of the conveyor belt is indeed fast but it's pretty small so can just wait for it to come around again.
The conveyor belt doesn't come around the individual tables so one would have to get up, pick out what you want and come back to the table. Wasn't a problem for us cos we were seated quite near the belt.
There are also trays available so that people could carry more plates back.
When we were there, it was super crowded with tons of students from different schools (cheap buffet mahhh.. and also it was half-day for National Day celebrations) and teachers also started to come in after the school event at the stadium had ended.
Really crowded.
So the conveyor belt was practically smothered with people standing all around it, especially with the students planting themselves waiting for whatever dish that they're waiting for.
I had plentiful of my fave salmon sushi of course, but here are nice ones that I recommend you guys trying!
I think this was tuna and it's yummy!
The fried sesame seeds on the outside makes the sushi very fragrant. Yums!
Fried Sushi. Can't tell what's inside but this is extremely delicious! We only tried it when we were full already.. But we did manage to polish off another plate of this.
They have Mochi too!
We had Sesame/Strawberry/Green Tea.
Sorry I already ate one of the Green Tea ones so placed it together with the Strawberry for the photo. Oops.
The buffet comes with ONE drink only - Hot Green Tea/Iced Green Tea.
You can ask for iced water but maybe because of the crowd, ours never made it to our table. :S
We ended up drinking water off the water cooler in the Sports Hall then walking to YCK MRT's Cheers and buying ourselves drinks.
So maybe bring your own water, just in case.
I would definitely go back but on a less crowded day. :)
