Carlton Hotel Durian Dessert Buffet. Labels: food
The boy and I went last year and while the cakes and other desserts were good, we loved its Chilled Durian Pudding.. OMG. It's like the bomb! Tastes exactly like fresh durian mashed up and chilled! Super yummy. I could eat that every single day.
So we went there again this year totally looking forward to the Chilled Durian Pudding.
And yes, you guessed it. It wasn't there! :(
This year's spread was nothing we expected. I would say that the dessert choices were halved and for the same price as last year! Ugh. To make it worse, they didn't serve the Chilled Durian Pudding. Hans and I regretted not leaving after being showed the spread. It really sucks.
There were only a handful of "durian desserts" and they weren't that good.
The other non-durian stuff tasted horrible and just killed our appetite. Not something I would expect a hotel (and Carlton is considered 4-star, I just checked online) to serve.
The above has almost everything available at the buffet. Except for some other stuff that did not look appealing. The bottom two pictures are mainly the durian stuff they had and those plates even have repeated stuff. Ugh. Damn lousy. They used pancakes and waffles to make us full faster. They didn't even have those last year. Last year was really quality desserts! The sauce that was provided beside them were not bad though. The closest we could get to Chilled Durian Pudding.
We couldn't even finish the stuff we had on these three plates. And we only had coffee before this. It's THAT bad. Talking about coffee, they didn't even serve us coffee at the end of the buffet unlike last year. -shakes head-
I don't have last year's photos.. But I guarantee you, everything looks a million times better!
We left unhappy and felt cheated. Hans kept saying we should have left and gone for some good food instead.
Well, I'm certain we won't be back next year.
He doesn't even look happy here.
I had to pose for the camera but the food really sucks!
Don't even consider going there!
