I was doing my weekly cleaning and was reorganizing a little, as usual. Labels: everyday minerals, makeup
Then inspiration hit me!
I found my old Fancl compact, which came in a gift set. It had contained shimmer face powder but cos I hardly used it, I threw out the powder but kept the pan, in case I wanted to press some powder/blush in. Fancl products are preservative-free so I bet the powder was expired or something anyway.
It's a really pretty compact that has another compartment for the brush.
I thought I'd try and see if my everydayminerals pressed powder could fit into the compact cos I've been neglecting it. I hate the flimsy cardboard case. And I've been waiting forever for everydayminerals to come up with their new compacts! Ugh!
I placed the empty pan over the pressed powder and I think they are of the same size! So I quickly grabbed my metal ruler (which was nearest to me) and started to pry out the pan.
It came out like immediately cos...
..the glue had dried up!
Imagine if I had brought the pressed powder out in its original case.. Big mess if it shifts everywhere and crumbles!
So anyway, I cleaned up the bottom of the pan cos it was all powdery and dirty then applied some (really good) double-sided tape. A lot of double-sided tape actually. Haha.
And voila!
I tried to shake the compact around and the pan didn't fall out. :)
Oh and I tried the brush that came with the compact on the pressed powder and it applies pretty good so I guess I'll be using that for touchups.
I'm really really excited about being able to bring my everydayminerals out!
I don't carry the loose foundation with me cos I need to bring a brush out. I think it's really dirty to just dump my kabuki into my makeup pouch. Big no-no for me. I did consider placing the kabuki into a zip-lock bag and then into my makeup pouch but I don't want to risk my brush bristles from being damaged.
EDM depot project successful!
So yay that I can now bring the pressed powder out! :D
Bye bye ugly lousy cardboard case and say hello to pretty pink!
:):):):):)
*update:
I'll see how the double-sided tape go. I might get some magnetic strips and place them in there.. but I don't really know where to get those locally. :( I guess I will have to ebay it.
