I've been using mineral makeup for at least 2 months now, though I lapse during days when I need more coverage and I'll fall back on my powder foundations, liquid foundations or BB creams.
I definitely have been neglecting my BB creams simply because most of them feel so heavy and stuffy on my face. And I really don't see any improvement on my skin after using them. To me, they are just another form of liquid foundation. Lol.
So anyway, I decided to bring out this BB cream sample that I got off fr3b.com and tried it out. I had ordered this in November 2008 along with a couple of other BB cream samples and thought I'd probably not use them so I've given most away.
I'm glad I had not given this away cos I really quite like it! I am seriously considering getting a full-size of it some time soon.
Application: This is not as thick and dry as other BB creams and not too watery either. It spreads easily without having to drag my fingers across with much effort. It works well with a stippling brush (or duo fibre brush) too though it is a much lighter coverage as compared to using fingers.
Smell: I did detect a slight floral (probably jasmine lol) scent while applying, but it wasn't too strong and it didn't bother me at all.
Oil Control: It controls oil really well for me. No sign of oiliness or heaviness after a whole (warm) day. The BB cream just stays put and doesn't have the melted away look.
Coverage: Pretty good too even though I needed concealer over to make sure my scars don't show. But it concealed pores and did a good job in evening out my skintone.
Finish: I've started to steer back to the matte look now but I've never been a fan of the glossy oily look. I say it is alright in this aspect cos it is pretty matte but with a slight glowy finish. Really pretty and natural!
I'm about an NC 20 and it blended really nicely into my skin. :)
I think I can safely say that this is one of my favourite BB creams. It doesn't show up as a white cast when taking photos and that's really good news since most BB creams do that on me.
So yay for this BRTC Jasmin Water BB Cream!
