I did a 10km run again today.
I walked lesser and was running most of the time, even though I had to slow down during upslopes. I was still running.
Sadly, it didn't show an improvement on my timing. :( I took about 1.5hr again. Quite disappointed.

I don't know why mapmyrun says I burnt 555 calories as opposed to the last time, same route, same timing at 741 calories. Weird. So I've decided not to take the calories too seriously anymore.

I feel quite tempted to delete all my 2+km, 3+km runs off mapmyrun now knowing that I can definitely go much further. Lol. Just to encourage myself towards my goal! Maybe I still can run those routes on faster speed days.

Some thoughts.
While I was at the beginning of the run today, before I reached YCK road, I was still going through my mind where I should run to and how much a distance I should cover today. I decided to run towards my 10km route and see where I reach my maximum and then just turn back. I could always calculate the distance once I got home. But I went on and on and on until just that little bit left to reach the 5km mark and where I needed to head back, I was like arguing with myself to run a little less than 10km and just turn and go home. Luckily, I didn't. To me, today I learnt that the mind is really awesome cos I figured whether you think good positive thoughts or not, really helps in anything you do. Like I was telling myself, I already made it all the way here, I want to make it a full 10km so that I can see if I ran faster than the last time.

Some changes.
I brought a water bottle out for my run today. And that is really the reason why I took the 10km route. It was like I can totally do without water for a 5km run and since I have my water bottle, maybe I should make it worth it. But I really found it quite cumbersome. It hindered my arm swing and I'm still not used to it. I usually hold my keys in one hand and now I had to have keys in one hand and water bottle in another. However, it really did help my terribly dry throat along the way. So yay to Hans for telling me I should bring water along. :)

Oh and it made me quite excited when I saw that my average speed is 6.67km/hr. Even though I took like forever to reach home, I have never seen myself run 6.67km/hr. Yay!

Blisters. Ugh. I seriously think I need a new pair, a proper pair of good running shoes cos if I'm getting at least 3 blisters at 10km, what will happen when I go for my 42km (-chuckles- I really hoping I can go for 42km and not succumbing to 21km at the end of the year).

I want to join random runs but I lack the $$. :(
